There is nothing and I'm not kidding, nothing worse than being waken by the smell of a ticked off or scared skunk. HOLY COW!!! It's close to 5 am and I'm trying to roll over and get away from the stench. Then like the loving wife I am, I blamed Big Daddy. "Gosh D, what did you eat after I went to bed??" He then gets up, in a wonderful mood I might add, and loudly proclaims "Woman that is a Skunk, not me!" "Oh, oops"!
He was so aggravated he made his own coffee this morning. Hey I think I might be on to something here. But in my defense I was half asleep and the smell IS very similar to the "rose" smell he passes after eating a pint of Ben and Jerry's. I tell ya it's enough to make a moose gag. Oh the joys of marriage. Anyhoo...
This past weekend was a fairly productive weekend. A bunch of laughs, a few tears, a lawn mowed (we split the task) and a clean (well kinda) garage.
I did go do a touristy thing. I went to the Shaker Village in New Gloucester, Maine. It's about 35 minutes from the house. This is the only active Shaker Village left in the world. You know the Shakers, they "shook" with the spirit of the Lord and made awesome furniture. It's all very New England. Their history and life-style is very interesting. I rented a PBS documentary from Netflix about them before I went.

On the way home, a strange magnetic pull landed me in this parking lot.

Tons of stuff! There was so much intermingled I may have to go back to see what I missed. But I did get a couple of ideas from the outside.

Then I came home and fixed this guy on the grill with roasted Butternut Squash ( pealed, seeded and cut that bad-boy myself, what a pain!!!) and fresh garlic green beans.

Beer-can chicken...YUM!

The left overs of this guy is going to be chicken and rice tonight.
Today is all about the yard again. I'll keep ya posted as the vacation continues on.
Love and Hugs
