Back to reality...Well my reality

Back to work today after a wonderful week off. Big Daddy and I had a great time camping despite the rain. I'm telling ya it gave "Camp Swampy" a whole new meaning. Big D always wants a site near the water. Well I think this time he has finally learned his lesson. Most sites near the water are DOWN HILL. And how does water run after it rains ladies and gentlemen???? Yep DOWN HILL needless to say we were in quite the mud pit. I keep telling him this. Hopefully he now believes me.

Jake had a ball playing and laying in the mud! Stevie Ray...not so much. Stevie did hang out with us while we fished and even got his little paws wet.. Which totally traumatized him. That dog HATES getting wet.
Jake wanted to catch fish too.. Well I can't say "catch" them, more like pounce on them in the water. He had a wonderful time swimming and splashing around. When ever D or I caught a fish, Jake had to sniff it. Pretty funny watching an 80 pound German Shepherd get slapped by a fish as it was wiggling around. We now say "Don't make me Fish Slap you". I know, we are a strange little bunch.
Camping always works up an appetite so here are 2 of my 3 boys waiting for their supper...No it wasn't fish...Hamburgers..

Stevie was still traumatized over getting his paws wet in the lake so Daddy put him up on the bed so he could sleep it off..
Here I am the next morning taking the babies for a potty walk..

Stevie was over the whole camping thing by this time and wanted nothing more than his Woobie and his, I mean our, bed.
But the best thing about the whole trip, besides being with my little family, is an American Bald Eagle had a nest in a tree right on our camp site. One thing I did learn really quick, Eagles do scream and they are super loud. I could not for the life of me figure out what was making that God aweful scream. Then it occured to me "Hey maybe an Eagle...naww not here in a campground. Well Low and behold YEP!.. Here are the pictures I snapped.

Better shot of the eagle..
It brought tears to my eyes...really!
After we got home on Sunday, I took a little cat nap, then shot out the door to an Executive Board Meeting for WLU After Dark. Think I can make my life any more hectic? Well, I can!! Big Daddy and I, minus the "kids", are going camping again this weekend with the inlaws. They want to see him before he goes. Whew can you say whirl wind. Jake will be disappointed about not going. But Stevie probably won't even say bye for fear of getting packed up.
I'm off to bed. Must get my beauty sleep. Hardy HAR HAR.
Love and Hugs!!!
Bec
