39 and holding....on Christmas Eve

Well a couple of days ago I turned 39! Wow a year away from 40. Somehow it's not that old to me anymore. I sometimes think I should have it more together than I do. Then I think back to all that I have accomplished. More than some but not as much as others. But I can look back and honestly say..."I did it my way"! (I love ole Frankie). All and all a good life and I'm looking forward to many more birthdays! I thank God for the life I live and the experiences I've had.

My friends and family have been my saving grace since Big Daddy has been gone. Hot Chick threw a party for me, which consisted of Friends, Football, munchies and a couple of Rum and Diet Cokes.
As I sit here on Christmas Eve, I'm remembering just how magical this night is! The anticipation and excitement. I still look in the sky to see.... what, I don't know..... maybe 8 tiny reindeer. Or just stare at the stars and realize just how loved I am. It's a wonderful feeling. I quietly thank God for sending Jesus here to show us how to live and behave. Love one another for the greatest gift you can give is Love!

Happy Birthday Jesus! I'm so glad you are a part of my life!

The Reason for the Season

First let me wish.... Happy last day of Hanukkah to my Jewish friends!
I thought I share some pix from a Christmas Pageant I went to on Wednesday night. It was so cool. Greenbrier Christian Church in Chesapeake, Virginia set up what it would have been like in Bethlehem the night Jesus was born.

There were Roman Soldiers,

The Market was really busy..

They had Shepherds with live sheep and lambs. It was so sweet. I was able to pet an Alpaca and a baby lamb. I'm still wanting an Alpaca and now I think I'll have a couple of lambs too on my imaginary retirement farm. I'm all about the wool. HA HA.

Just look at that sweet little face!!! I now know I could NEVER eat lamb again. (I also love the Hot pink collar)

We went through a tunnel holding a candle and I was moved to tears when I saw the grotto where the Holy Family was.

"And unto us a Savior is born". Yep..... he is the Master I follow!
Merry Christmas everyone!!

I moved back to the Beach so why does it FEEL like ME!!!

OK what the Cow Pokey is going on???? I move back to VB where it is fairly warm in the winter. I mean it's no Florida, but still the average temp is 50 or so in December. Dear Heavens I woke up to a hard frost and my feet are freezing. Might help if I put socks on, but still! This is so wrong on so many different levels! UMMM God, yes I do miss somethings about Maine, but the weather is not one of them. I really don't need to be reminded of frigid weather. I know all about it. Remember??? I was using your name in vain while shoveling white stuff off my sidewalk. Yes, I am very sorry for that!

Speaking of ME. I was laughing and sharing some of the antics from Maine while at an impromptu gathering of office buddies...
Linda our Fearless Leader and Office Admin. Yeah SHE ROCKS!!! LOVE HER!!
Me and Ms T from OV she is the resident fashion guru of the firm!!
No we could not squeeze closer, God I look like a Line Backer!
So after one and let me repeat one Margarita, any more than that I feel like I've licked sandpaper for a week. I headed home. I was thinking about something Linda, our fearless leader, said...."I miss the stories from Maine". Yeah I know Buddy, I do to. Once I moved back to "La Beach" the Mutual of Omaha Wild Kingdom stopped. I got Nothing but the dogs and Seagulls, which are nothing more than rats with wings. Nasty Birds, just nasty.
AWWW but wait I do have something, Beckie trying to cook soup! I saw this great recipe on Dear Daisy Cottage Blog and it just looked so goooood and soooo easy. I just had to try. Well I did and yes it was easy, but I don't suggest over stuffing your pot or letting it cook for the full 11 hours it calls for, because this is what happens
How the heck one burns the heating element on a crock is beyond me, but I managed to do it. So out the door with the "new" crock. I think I'm going to the thrift to find a good old fashion one! But my "soup" is more of a stewish thing. I'll let ya know how it tastes later.

I'm not usually overly political but...

THIS SAYS IT ALL!!!
As many of you know I am a Military Wife. I am also a Military Daughter, Granddaughter and Niece. I come from a long line of Sailors, Soldiers and Marines. I am very proud of this heritage and my current status. So that is why I was moved when I heard of the 3 Navy SEALS up on "brutality" charges. These are the gentlemen who went in and snatched the bad guy who masterminded the attacks on the 4 Blackwater Contractors and hung their mutilated bodies from a bridge in Iraq. Yeah THAT guy. Well he has claimed that he was punched in gut and has a split lip by these SEALS. Yes you may insert a laugh or snort what ever consumes you now. My friend Diane described it best.."He's lucky it wasn't a bunch of wives that got a hold of him" Amen Sister! Especially deprived wives because their husband are stationed over in that Sandbox for a year... Sorry that's a whole nother can of worms. Anyway...Well now these heroes are up on charges and I personally think it's a bunch of Horse Pucky! So I took Monday off from work to go to a Support Rally for these guys. I've never done like that before, go to a demonstration or rally. It was very moving. To hear the honking of the horns for the support, holding my sign and standing up for what I believe in. It's very humbling to be a part of something bigger than yourself. Elle Woods said it best when she gave her speech to the Joint Session in Legally Blonde 2 Red White and Blonde "Speak Up America, you have a voice. Speak Up"! And I did! So here are a few pictures from the rally. Please keep these Silent professional warriors in your prayers and may God let justice prevail.
News Crews were there.
Marty McCabe, Matthew McCabe's Father!
Me and the Beautiful Miss Charlotte
Josh the Organizer, me and Scott Taylor, who will hopefully be our new Congressman next year!! Mr. Taylor is a former SEAL turned politician!

That's Life

WOW December!! The bipolar year of 2009 is coming to an end. With all the extreme highs and lows, it needed some serious Prozac with a Tequila chaser. I keep hearing Frank Sinatra singing "That's Life" I especially love the part when says he "falls flat on his face and picks himself up and gets back in the race..That's Life" I see that all around me. I've been hitting my knees so hard praying for some friends, that Daddy would be freaking out thinking I was going to re injure the very expensive knees he had to have fixed when I was 16. I wish I could put them in my pocket and look after them but we all have our paths to follow and all I can really do is pray and just be there when they need me.
Oh and speaking of prayer....see this guy....
Yeah the Hot Guy on the right.....
He keeps me busy with prayer all the time. I really miss him!

I have accomplished nothing this Christmas Season. Usually the house is a decorated and cards have been done and getting ready to be mailed. But this year the only thing I have done is put up a little tree. Just ONE little tree. So unlike me I know, but to be perfectly honest.. Everything is packed up to the hilt in the garage and I can't find a thing. You see I have left the garage for Big D to tackle when he gets back from the Big Sand Box. I want him to feel like he had a part in putting the house together. Oh and I'm just lazy. As for the cards. I still have not found my address file. So please don't hold it against me this year if you don't get one, I can't find your address right now.

Thanksgiving was great. I spent the day with Hot Chick and her family and I mean Mom, Dad, Pup, brothers and sisters in law and kids. It also happened to be Hot Chick's Birthday so it was a double celebration.

Beth's Butt, she works hard on it and it is a nice one.

Jim (Beth's Husband the Cutie Pie Pilot) and Hot Chicks's Brother and niece. The little one has an identical twin sister. They were adorable!
Food Glorious Food..(Name that Stage Show)
Dad, Hugh and Pup
Hot Chick rock'n the B-Day Look. She broke her collar bone in a car accident, that is why she is wearing the straps under her arm pits.
Well I'm off to get dressed. It is Saturday, but I need to get into my office to finish up some work.
Love and Hugs!!
